Trashfinders Ball Documentary

Two years ago, Sean Devlin began a community fundraising event which involved finding treasures in the trash of Beverly, Mass.
The event, known now as the Trashfinder’s Ball, become a local overnight sensation involving hundreds of members of the Beverly community, who participated as contestants, judges, workers, readers, musicians, and general “lives of the party.”

Kevin Carey, a friend of Sean’s and a local filmmaker approached him about filming the ball. After several conversations, the two decided to dig a little deeper, to interview participants, trash pickers, judges, and the workers responsible for this wonderful community event.

“We believe the film will show the lighter side of community building, the spectacle of the ball itself, and the importance of a community making an effort to re-purpose and recycle it’s trash.”
